Blackberry Blossom is an old-time bluegrass tune. It is quite popular in jam sessions, and often features the violin or mandolin. When I told Steve I planned to teach this tune, he asked me, "Which version?"
Well, Steve was referring to the variations that occur from region to region, but in my research, I discovered there were actually 3 or more distinct versions. Read about them here.
