Joy to the World

Lesson Skills
Mountain Dulcimer:
D-A-A & D-A-d Tuning
Walking down the D scale in drone style in DAA & DAd tunings.  Discussion about sequences in music and making big melodic jumps. Adding a harmony on the bass and middle strings, then putting them together to make a chorded melody arrangement.  (For dulcimers without a 6+ or 6-1/2 fret, finding the necessary note on the middle string in DAd tuning.)
Hammered Dulcimer:   Playing this “authentic” tune in the box in D and G, adding a fancy introduction, right and left-hand multiple bounce rolls and modulating from D to G within the song.
