Moveable Chord Shapes

Mountain Dulcimer:
D-A-A & D-A-d Tuning
  This lesson charts out “portable” chord shapes for both DAA and DAd tunings starting from the open notes on a dulcimer. These are hand shapes or finger positions that can travel up and down the fret board.
    Discussion of the formation of chords (major triads) and partial chords:  barre, 2-finger slant/small slant, triangle (no skips) right triangle (skip a fret), reverse right triangle (no skip),  L (skip 1 or skip 2), hand-stretcher, slant, slant + skip 1,  reverse-able shapes (includes negotiating around the 6-1/2 or 6+ fret and an introduction to chord voicings.)
