CREATING HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS FOR DULCIMER SOLOS & ENSEMBLES
Mondays 1 pm MDT Beginning SEPT 27th, 2021.
This class is bi-lingual, for both mountain and hammered dulcimer players and arrangers using familiar holiday tunes as our case studies for creating solo and multi-part arrangements.
A step-by-step over 6-weeks progressive approach yields the "stickiest" learning.
Screen to Screen Zoom Class, PDF handouts, .mp3 files for priming the pump and reinforcement, archive videos of classes each week.

Ensemble Arranging
We'll work on assigning parts to different instruments and refine our understanding and comfort levels with the various accessible ways this can happen.
Our text is DECK THE HALLS
a collection of 3 and 4 part arrangements for mixed dulcimer ensembles of all varieties, hammered and mountain in both DAA and DAd tuning.
A digital interactive PDF and .mp3 files is included in the tuition for this class.
Both Mountain and Hammered Dulcimers
will be be our palette for arranging and playing these tunes in pleasing and accessible ways.
Steve Eulberg has over 37 years of experience
discovering, playing and teaching hammered dulcimer. He earned a Master of Music Education from Boston University with a goal of teaching traditional music on traditional instruments.
The traditional way of learning is...
knee to knee or in our case, screen to screen.
Students will receive .mp3 sound files to listen before class to the tunes we'll be learning, together with the reinforcement of written tablature.
Finally, a video archive of each week's session is provided to students as well.
The Dulcimer Community is welcoming....
This course gives you the skills to enter into jam sessions of traditional music and hammer along with enthusiasm and joy!
