Walk Through First 50 Songs
Mondays 11 am MDT
Novice-Intermediate
We'll walk through several selected tunes from this collection (which have NOT already been taught in previous workshops) by playing the arrangements: noter style, with chords & chord-melody.
Hal Leonard's First 50 Songs You Should Play on Mountain Dulcimer is the required text for this class. If you don't already own a copy, you can add a physical copy of the book when you check out.
Dulci-Bro:
"I can slide,
now what?"
Mondays 4 pm MDT
This next-level class is for people who have already taken my introduction and overview classes to play slide style on a resonator dulcimer in a 4-string set-up.
Taught in a workshop-style, students will bring tunes they already play on mountain dulcimer so we can work together on adapting them for this style of playing. Strategies for playing dulcibro in ensembles will also be addressed.
Choose "add a book" if you'd like a physical copy of Dulci-Bro: Methods and Resources for playing Resonator Dulcimer.
Arrange YOUR Next 50 Songs
Tuesdays 11 am MDT
Intermediate-Advanced
Learn Steve's process for arranging popular tunes.
This class will equip you with the tools you need and how and when to use them, so that you are not captive to the long, sometimes torturous process of licensing popular tunes for publication.

Adapting First 50 Songs for Hammered Dulcimer
Wednesdays 11 am MDT
Intermediate-Advanced
Adapting music written for other instruments to hammered dulcimer is a useful skill. Using several selected tunes from Steve's Book, we'll look at our tools and hone our skills, which can apply to any music we wish to play.

Steve Eulberg has nearly 50 years of experience
discovering, playing and teaching guitar, dulcibro, mountain and hammered dulcimers. He earned a Master of Music Education from Boston University with a goal of teaching traditional music on traditional instruments.
The traditional way of learning is...
knee to knee or in our case, screen to screen.
Students will receive .mp3 sound files to listen before class to the tunes we'll be learning, together with the reinforcement of written tablature.
Finally, a video archive of each week's session is provided to students as well.
The Dulcimer Community is welcoming....
This course gives you the skills to enter into jam sessions of traditional music and strum along with enthusiasm and joy!
